The Business Unit Digital Grid is covering end-to-end solutions for managing, optimizing and protecting electrical grids by using market leading products and software in the medium and high voltage range.
It covers a wide range of automation and protection products, telecommunication solutions and grid software like protection cubicles, smart metering, SCADA solutions, ADMS, grid simulation software including Digital Twin solutions.
Main customers are the utilities (DSO and TSO) and high energy consuming industries and infrastructures like data centers, hospitals etc.
In my responsibility we cover the markets in Belgium, Luxemburg and French speaking Africa (mainly Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Senegal, Cameroon, Ivory Coast and Guinee).
I am fully responsible for the P&L and local strategy of the business, managing a team of 100 FTE in sales, engineering, service and logistics.

Next to the business unit role, I was during this period responsible for the development of the business for the division Energy Management in Africa. The division Energy Management covers the full scope of Low Voltage, Medium Voltage and High voltage products and solutions, all integrated via the Digital Grid technology.
We started from a small base business in North Africa of around 10’€ and developed the business to more than 50’€ by expanding geographical and technical our offerings.
Main drivers were the development of new local partners, agents and local sales for the go to market, combined with customer presentations, homologation activities and marketing to create the push and pull from end customer and local partners for a long-term customer loyalty.
Special attention to compliance and risk management.

2011 – 2014: Siemens Infrastructure and Cities
Division Lead Smart Grid Belgium / North Africa (30’)

2001 – 2011: Siemens IT Solutions and Services / Atos
     2001-2005: Consulting / Project management activities in IT Solutions
     2005 – 2011: COO of Global Operations Belux (IT Managed Services & Outsourcing), including Datacenter design and constructions (+ 200 FTE)

In this function, I was running the Operations of the IT services part of SIS’ Belux operations. Overall responsible for all service lines (Service Desk, Deskside Services, Datacenter operations …). Financial accountability of the Cost of Sales of the Division Global Operations.
Constant quality improvement and customer satisfaction were our motto and so SIS was rewarded in the period 2008-2010 the Customers’ choice for IT Outsourcing for 3 years in a row.
