Belgium as a hydrogen importhub – Roadmap towards 2030 and beyond
From inititative to roadmap
The Hydrogen Coalition partnership started in 2019 between Deme, Engie, Exmar, Fluxys, Port of Antwerp/Bruges and Waterstofnet.
Since then, the coalition partners have collaborated intensively and consulted with stakeholders to bring a comprehensive plan.
In 2021, a first report was published: Shipping sun and wind to Belgium.
In October 2023, the coalition delivered a roadmap to make a strong case for Belgium as a importhub for hydrogen.
Entras is very proud to have contributed to this Roadmap.
Webinar
The Roadmap has also been presented by Jeroen Vanfraechem (Entras) during a webinar.
The numerous attendees (over 200 registrations) showed clearly this is a hot topic.
During the webinar, potential scenarios were discussed for future hydrogen import and infrastructure development. Also we emphasized immediate actions are required, and subsequent measures in the first years to come.
